We have all done it at one time or another... at least many of us have. We all fell for the announcements of free software or we tried to find a program of free software from Google. The keyword search shows several entries that say "free" or "freeware" on the Google search results page. We click on the link, go to the site, download the "free" software, install the package, run and it seems to work very well. The "free" software tell us what is the problem and we click on the button it will repair for us. Then, we get the message that we need to register the product at the end of the "demo". This is that realize you that you must buy the "free demo". In this article I will talk about some very good programs that are truly free and you should have stored on your hard disk.
The first program is called CCleaner and it is in fact four programs in one. The first program is in reality a cleaner file that removes unwanted programs; three areas Internet Explorer, Windows Explorer and file system of different areas on your hard disk. The second part of CCleaner is a registry Fixer. I tried this myself after several days of use my slow computer more. I was happy, that I have done. The process takes less than half an hour and the results are amazing. My system has been rejuvenated and my frustration quickly disappeared. The third part of the program is the Tools section and consists of a program uninstallation (such as the control panel), a customizable Start Up list that you can modify and restore of the system where you can manage your system restore points manually. The last section, Options, gives you the possibility to manually delete the Cookies.
CCleaner could easily be sold for $50.00 or more, so take advantage of the "free" CCleaner
Another excellent downloadable program is called Recuva, PC file recovery program. Even if I did not have the need for the program (fortunately), I created a test for it. I deleted a JPEG file from my hard drive and a WordPad document, I've created. The amount of time required to retrieve the JPEG file is amazingly relatively short, a few minutes at most. Not only it find the file, but it was salvageable. Recuva the WordPad file, however, had a tough time finding. I've done a deep analysis (which takes about 45 minutes) and it returns 135 files that were recoverable. I hope that I will not not need Recuva anytime soon, but it is a relief to know that this is if I do.
The last program I downloaded was Defraggler. Yes, you guess, a program of hard disk defragger. He had been a time since I used the defragger widows program, but I remember it took time to defragment my hard drive. Thus, I tried Defraggler in its fast mode and it took my player of fragmented dress from 56% to 21% fragmented and it took about an hour.
These programs are great discoveries for free software. Please read my article and if you found informative, please leave a comment.
