1 Winzip
The first program which is super useful is Winzip. It is a compression program that reduces the size of the file of your documents. A 5 MB Word document can be easily compress in, say, 2 MB. This option is useful is you intend to send documents on email. WinZip is a freeware, but there is a screen of evaluation you will need to click on past each time you start the program. Download here.
2 TreePad Lite
I like to organize my personal information. The program manager of information is very useful to organize pieces of thoughts, ideas and information you may have. Such a program is TreePad Lite, which is a very good job of this. It is basically a treelist with "nodes" for the storage of information. The program is very light and clean and is a perfect information manager. Download and try the case.
3 Adobe Acrobat Reader
The best freeware program next in my list is Adobe Acrobat Reader. It's still a must freeware for reading ebooks you download from the Internet. It has a ton of nice features, including the ability to read e-books aloud using your laptop sound. In fact, sometimes I find Adobe Acrobat Reader so useful that I would recommend folks to upgrade to the full version, Adobe Acrobat. This allows you to create PDF files and also provides you with another very useful feature - the ability to print documents in PDF format. Get the program here.
4 Firefox Mozilla
The next program freeware is Mozilla Firefox. It is an excellent program compared to Microsoft Internet Explorer. There are ways to introduce the free modules in the program to make your browsing experience better. The program is faster than Internet Explorer, and I find that it is also more lean and mean. There could be competition from the new browser from Google's Chrome though - but in the meantime, Firefox is great for me. Download here.
5 MSN Messenger
The last essential freeware out there? He had to be MSN Messenger. Today, everyone chat online and MSN Messenger became more or less the default program people use. Watch the virus can spread via MSN Messenger - but otherwise it is the perfect tool for chat on the Web.
Conclusion
Overall, you find that there are many free software that is easy to obtain and install on your new laptop. These improve your productivity and come without costs. You can check the sourceforge.net site or download.com to find new freeware programs to use - they are two of my favorite freeware sites. Hope you enjoyed this review and until next time, good luck and happy surfing!
